How Is Your Walk With God?

 Hello Ladies,

I thought I would start this out by asking how your walk with the Lord is.  We visited a church a long time ago in Florida to hear a missionary speak and one of his daughters asked my daughters this question.  At that time it hit me, how often are you ever asked this.  We get together and fellowship, have meals together, attend church regularly, but have you ever been asked how your walk with the Lord is?  I never have.  In well over 20 years of being saved, no one has ever asked me this question.  I believe I am going to start using this more often.

How is your walk?
I mean how is your walk with the Lord?  Are you meeting with Him daily through Bible study and prayer.  Do you speak to Him throughout the day, other than just thanking Him for your meals?  Yes, even ladies need to study, not just read.  We need to know why we believe what we believe.  We need to be able to answer questions when people ask us why we do certain things.  Could you defend your faith to a Mormon or Jehovah's Witness?  What about an unsaved family member?  Remember the Bible is the Lord speaking to us.  It is our guide book for daily living.  (Isaiah 34:16, 1 Peter 2:2, 2 Timothy 2:15, 1 Peter 3:15)

What about your prayer time?  Are you spending enough time in prayer?  For those who are married, do you pray for your husband daily?  I mean specifically.  Not just the generic, "Be with my husband, help him have a good day."  I am talking about really laying him before the Lord.  Asking the Lord to help him lead the family.  To encourage him in his strengths and to help him with his weaknesses.  If you have children, you should be praying the same way for them.  What about lost family members and friends?  Not to mention thanking and praising the Lord for all He has done.  So, how much time do you spend with the Lord Daily between prayer and reading the Scriptures? (1 Thess. 5:17, Phil. 4:6, Romans 12:12)

Then there is Bible memory.  Are you committing God's Word to memory so that you know the Word better?  Are you hiding God's Word in your heart daily?  Weekly?  Monthly even?  Some day the Word you have memorized may be all that you have. (1 Peter 3:15, Psalm 1:2, Psalm 119:4, 9, 15)

Do you witness for the Lord?  Do you carry tracts with you when you go out so that you can give them to the cashier, beautician, waitress, etc.?  Do you verbally witness to those you meet throughout your day? (Proverbs 11:30, Acts 20:20, 2 Cor. 5:18-19, Matt. 28:18-19)

Now, this is not meant to offend or get you down, it is a reminder of what we should be doing, and a check up to see if we really are having a close walk with the Lord.  So, after reading this, how would you say your walk is.  Do you need to improve your walk?  I do.  So let's work on this together.  Feel free to leave comments, encouragement, questions.
